Vizio L37

37" 720p LCD HDTV (link to product page)

Customer review #1:
The overall design of the L37 is good, with the speakers on the bottom, it won't take up valuable width space. Image quality is fair for a HD monitor. In bright scenes, it looks great, but dark scenes won't look as good because of the relatively poor contrast ratio. I ended up returning the set, because of the poor contrast ratio and the fact that the screen "freaks out" in bright scenes. Whenever a bright flash of light came on screen, the screen would turn blue and take a couple of seconds to reset. (link)

Customer review #2:
The L37's number of inputs is adequate considering the price, but there is only one HDMI input.
Testing the L37 next to several other budget HDTVs, the L37 held its own and displayed a relatively deep level of black. The black areas were slightly blue, but not as bad as some other HDTVs we tested. Probably the greatest strength of the L37 was the color accuracy, which is usually not good in the budget HDTV arena. Customer review #3:
I have had the L37 for a month now. I am still very happy with the set, especially considering the price I paid for it. Some issues I have had are:
> the remote will only work directly in front of the screen, so I have to get up to change channels if I'm viewing from off center.
> when using the wall mount, the bottom of the TV is so heavy it tilts. (link)

Customer review #4:
Got the Vizio L37 last Friday. This one has the 1000:1 contrast ratio. I watched it in the store side by side with a Samsung and a Sanyo, and the Vizio actually looked better than both. I took it home, set it up, and noticed one dead pixel almost in the center of the screen. I exchanged it for a new one and have had no problems. Over-the-air HD is excellent; I don't think you can beat this TV for the price. (link)
